Hull repairs
A lifeboat’s hull can encounter damage due to many reasons ranging from rough sea to accidents. These include the complete collapse of the boat’s fiberglass superstructure and structural crack on the hull. As per AMSA 2019 PSC report, deficiency of lifesaving appliances accounts for 14.7 per cent of all the detentions handed to vessels.
Structural damage of the lifeboat’s hull results in the non-conformity of the lifesaving appliance straight away and restricts the vessel to sail out on time. To ensure that your vessel is back to commercial operation, ARA Marine can mobilise without delays to carry out an extensively damaged repair, including damage to the fibreglass hull superstructure.
On completion of the repairs, the lifeboat will be inspected, or load tested – based on the extent of the damage /repair – as per the requirement of the maker, class, and flag.
ARA Marine provides hull repairs at ports in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Port Kembla, Gladstone, Melbourne, Perth, and Port Hedland.
